About Harper

I grew up in Henrico, off Parham Road, and spent most of high school trying to get downtown. My first apartment was a third-floor walk-up on Floyd Avenue with a radiator that knocked all winter.

In 2016 I bought a rowhouse on Hanover Avenue in the Fan. It needed a roof, a furnace and most of a kitchen. I learned more about old Richmond houses that year than in any class.

What I do differently is small and boring: I walk the block before I show a house, I pull the permit history, and I tell you what I would want to know if it were my money. I answer the phone, and I reply the same day.

On a Saturday you will find me at the farmers market in Bellevue, walking the dog along the river at Pony Pasture, or at an open house I am not hosting, just to see what sold and why.
